INFO TEXT

Welcome to our Lewisville Family!

This page is intended to familiarize new members with some of our recurring and annual events. It also contains lots of information about ways you can get involved and be an active part of our Lewisville family. We are so glad you're here!

Come GROW.

As Christians, we are called to continually grow and mature in our spiritual walk. Our growth should lead us to look more and more like Jesus so that we can reflect Him daily and lead others to Him. We should study His Word and reflect daily as we seek to grow. We also gather regularly for worship and times of study as a church family. These times of worship and study should be a priority for each us. There are many opportunities to grow, study, teach, and edify. Come grow!

Be FAMILY.

We are a community of believers, a family united in faith. God knew we needed community. Church family is such a blessing! Our church family is a place to belong, to be loved, and to be encouraged. In additon to our regular meeting times, we have many other gatherings and events that allow us to have fun and encourage and support one another. We have gatherings for women, men, and for every life stage. There is a place for you here. We hope you will get connected and be an active part of our family!

This list is not comprehensive, but is intended to provide a quick overview and make you aware of several ways that you can serve within our Lewisville family. We want every member to be an active part of our church family!

Go SERVE.

Each of us are to use our talents to serve the Lord and to serve one another. Jesus left us a perfect example of humble service. We are to follow His example as we serve and share the good news with those around us, so let's go serve!

These are just some of the ways you can serve our community alongside our Lewisville family:
  • Helping Huffines
We are partnering with a nearby Middle School to help meet the needs of their students and to support and encourage their teachers and staff. Some of our members also mentor at the school. There are many ways to help with this community effort. For more info or to get involved, keep a check on the announcements or contact Lindsey Harris.

  • Caring & Sharing
Caring & Sharing is a great opportunity to serve children in need. Our big event is a toy drive each December, providing holiday joy to 120+ kids and caretakers at the children’s homes that we support. For more info or to get involved, contact Kenneth or Heidi Coombes.

  • IMPACT
IMPACT, an umbrella ministry, is a weekly gathering that brings members together to assist various ministries of the church. We send out Military Care Packages, write notes of encouragement, mail out Bible correspondence courses around the world, and more! IMPACT meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays @ 6 p.m. through the school year. We share a meal and serve together! You can sign up to join us on your attendance card on the Sunday prior to each IMPACT. See Brian Williams for any questions about IMPACT.

  • Threads of Love
Threads of Love is a group of ladies that get together once a week to sew comfort pillows to help people in need. They have distributed thousands of pillow to cancer patients. For more info or to get involved, see Tricia Wylie.

  • Fall Festival for the Community
This is an annual event filled with food, fun, and games for families with children 5th grade and younger. It serves as a great outreach to our neighborhood and friends. We have hundreds of guests each year. For more info or to get involved, keep a check on the announcements and/or contact Kevin Langford or Leah Troutman.
  • Church-Wide Sunday PM Service Projects
We have 8-10 church-wide service projects in the foyer each year. These projects are intended to reach and encourage those outside of our church family. We want everyone to be involved in these special nights. To help prep projects or to help plan a project, please contact Keith or Lindsey Harris.

  • Food Makes Friends
This group cooks for large church fellowships and community outreach events. We are also equipped to help when disaster relief needs arise. If you love to grill and want more info, contact Victor Myers.

  • Vacation Bible School
We love Vacation Bible School because we love teaching children about the Lord! We have live actors sharing the stories found in Scripture, great singing and of course lots of snacks. VBS usually kicks off on the first Sunday in June each summer. If you would like to be a center guide for VBS, you can contact Kerry Harrell.

  • Christ's Haven Workdays
A group of our ladies travel regularly to Keller to volunteer at the resale shop for the Christ's Haven Children's Home. Work days are listed in the calendar section of our bulletin. See Elaine Gayle for more information.

  • World Bible School
This great work guides people through correspondance Bible studies. You can help people around the world learn more about becoming a Christian. Contact Jeanie Green or Gary Miley for ways to get involved.

More about our family...

Each phase of life presents its own set of trials and obstacles that coincide with the joys and successes we experience. Our goal is to understand what each life stage can bring and minister accordingly through classes, fellowships, retreats, service projects, and seminars to help our families thrive. Wherever you are in life, there is something for you here!

Youth Group

We have a great group of students that love the Lord and are continually striving to grow to be like Him. We would love for your family to consider getting involved with this great ministry—to help our youth grow and thrive! Young people in grades 6-12 participate in Bible classes for their unique needs, enjoy summer and winter camps and retreats, and attend annual youth conferences and mission trips. Our hope and aim is that, through the assistance of this ministry, using the Word of God, their lives will begin to look more like Jesus. We work to help them be involved in fun activities and build lasting friendships while growing in their faith. (2 Tim. 3:15).

See Sam McClarty for more info on our youth ministry and to get connected on the Youth Group REMIND App.

Families

We want to support our young families and their children as they seek to raise their children to know the Lord. We have other opportunities for our families to have fun and serve together throughout the year. We have Bible Classes, Bible Hour for our littles, a Sunday AM attended nursery, and monthly Kids' Service Nights! We have annual Egg Hunts, VBS, a Fall Festival, a Night at the North Pole, and other fun events! Grab a monthly activity calendar from the Kids’ Wing and keep a check on the announcements for more info.

Young Adults

Our Young Adults are an active group. They enjoy activities together and also look for ways to engage with those in other life stages. Whether they are mentoring youth, supporting senior members, or participating in the local community, their aim is to share Jesus by combining individual strengths so as to serve others in more impactful ways than each individual can accomplish on our own. Come join our Young Adults as they participate in the life of our church and the Lewisville area!

See Trent & Hope Powers for more info and to get a link to their GROUP ME.

Primetimers

At Lewisville, we don’t believe in ever sitting on the sidelines no matter what our age! As individuals who are in our 60’s, 70’s, and beyond, we feel we are in the prime time of our lives and want to make the most of the time God has granted us. We enjoy spending time with each other in “koinonia” – the Greek word for Fellowship. We are an active group who make several trips a year to popular destinations and attractions. However, the majority of the time we spend together, we are helping spread God’s love through various service projects, Bible Studies, and many activities of the Church which involve us coming together and working as a team and having fun. We are grateful that God has granted us abilities that we can use for His Glory, and we do our best to do just that!
