PTC is a unique camp designed to help young men develop their leadership skills and help them declare the Word of God. We will be digging into the Word, learning to prepare a short sermon, and of course, having some fun along the way. We are looking for young men who are up for being uncomfortable and want to learn more about God and leadership in the church.

I was born in Georgia and raised in Tennessee.  I am the son of a gospel preacher (James Watkins) and my brother (Alan) and I are both preachers. In 1972, I married Beverly, the daughter of a preacher (Lynn Cook), and have come to love her more every day.  We have 5 children, 2 boys (Jim and Michael) and 3 girls (Tiffany, Angela, and Rachel), and 24 grandchildren.  I was formally educated at Freed-Hardeman University, David Lipscomb University, Southern Christian University, and Florida International University.  I was really educated through growing up with 3 siblings; preaching at churches in Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas; learning from my parents and parents-in-law; observing my wife's willingness and wisdom; and attempting to raise five remarkable and remarkably different children.  I have been one of the ministers of the Crieve Hall Church of Christ since March 6, 2005.  I love being with my family and working with the church.  Preaching is not my career.  Like being a husband and a father, it is my life-choice and my joy.
